Alexandra Bridge – Ottawa/Gatineau
In a project involving the interprovincial Alexandra Bridge, Paranis was tasked with repointing all the stone buttresses. Deep-sea diving skills were required to work on the leading joints below the surface of the water. Huge blocks of stone were moved off barges with a pulley system that originated in ancient Egypt. Paranis is one of only a few Ontario companies skilled in heritage masonry.
